It’s Our Birthday!!!! Variety Qld’s Jet trek !!!! Triathlon!!!

We had a full house last night with The Variety Qld’s Jet Trek guests all staying with us. They have headed off now for the next leg of the journey toward Noosa and Tin Can bay.

More exciting news! It is our 29th Birthday today! Opened by Lady Flo Bjelke Petersen on February 17th 1983. So make sure you ‘like’ us on Facebook and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!!!

Full house on the weekend just gone. The Triathlon guests appreciated relaxing around the pool and enjoying our lovely surrounds. It was PERFECT weather. We are proud to have hosted the organisers AND the winners!!! There are not many spaces left for the March, 10th and 11th Bribie Tri so give us a call if you are needing quality accommodation!

Make your holiday time NOW at The Gums Anchorage in a fully self contained 2 or 3 bedroom apartment. The weather is stunning, the beach and water looks beautiful, dolphins are playing in The Pumicestone Passage. The water looks amazing!

The best place for water activities, Bike, boat and paddle boat hire; Cruising on the Passage; fun in the sun; bbq’s;markets;nearby cafes; restaurants; tennis on our full size court , or just relaxing in our lovely lagoon style pool.

Come and relax now at The Gums Anchorage, Bribie Island as we have no availability left at Christmas.

We are less than 1 hr from the Brisbane city, so easy to get to. Just drive over the bridge and sigh the Bribie sigh.

Boat ramp upgrade commenced

The local boat ramp is getting a bit of a makeover. The Local Council is spending around $200,000 on a floating footpath next to the existing boat ramp. Work has commenced with the placement of pylons. We’ll post a photo as soon as it’s finished

Dolphins in abundance close to Bribie Island Accommodation at the Gums Anchorage

The kids were out on the surf ski in The Pumicestone Passage on Saturday and were thrilled at how close a young dolphin came to them. They also spotted a turtle. This is Paradise! Right out the front of The Gums Anchorage holiday accommodation. A great location on Bribie Island to stay and enjoy the facilities and the local environment.

Tony and Joy snatched a walk on the beach on Sunday afternoon after a 5 minute drive to Woorim. (After 7 checkouts).We were lucky to see about 8 dolphins playing about in the waves close to the beach. How good is that!

The weather was perfect on the weekend… a bit of storm activity, wet weather briefly, but perfect to activate the fertiliser that Tony spent walking around for over 2 hours to lay across all lawn areas…. then heaps of sunshine in between.

There was a lot of activity in the pool with everyone enjoying that warmth and sunshine.

One of our guests got lucky in the fishing department with some whiting and nice bream caught at Red Beach… fishing interrupted only due to the need to get back and watch the rugby!

The word from our local fishermen staying at our Bribie Island Accommodation is that the whiting are in great numbers off the southern beaches using worms and casting into relatively shallow water
